Millwood House St Leonards-on-Sea East Sussex

A new two-storey industrial/warehouse building comprising two units, each with a separate access, has been built on the site of an existing building which had been demolished following a devastating fire.  The project commenced with the installation of reinforced concrete ground beams and a power floated concrete floor.  The portal steel frame and roof are clad in composite panels.

The first floor, constructed in metal decking and concrete, includes a large timber deck storage area accessed via a staircase and goods lift.  This floor also houses offices, meeting rooms and staff accommodation, and is accessed by two staircases and a pedestrian lift.

External works carried out by the Company’s in-house Groundworks and Civil Engineering Department includes the construction of roads, parking, paths and an HGV waiting area.

It was essential for the client to resume their business operations in their new premises as soon as possible.  The works were carefully programmed to ensure completion within the agreed time frame.
