Rowhook Court Blenheim Road Horsham

A three-storey building of nine one and two bedroom flats has been constructed on a brownfield site adjacent to a Network Rail line.

A BAPA Agreement was signed, following which the design, lifting plans and safe methods of work were submitted and approved by Network Rail.

Following asbestos removal and demolition of the existing garages, construction commenced with traditional trench fill foundations which were carefully checked and calculated to ensure there was no impact on the stability of the adjacent railway embankment.  The superstructure is loadbearing brick and block masonry cavity walls with beam and block ground floor, precast plank first and second floors, and a timber truss roof structure.  External materials include facing brick with feature areas of Cedral fibre cement cladding, and concrete tile roof.

Groundworks and civil engineering which were carried out by the Sunninghill Groundworks and Civil Engineering Department included construction of the foundations and drainage and external works comprising a car parking area and soft landscaping.
